FAQ
What is Project Tracker?
Project Tracker is a tool designed to record the design process in Revit allowing you to extract valuable information like the total hours of work per project, task, file, or view.
It can be used by individuals or teams for:
- Elaboration of more precise time estimates.
- Monitoring the cost of the project in real time.
- Identifying inefficiencies in the design process for improvements
- Project data comparison through dashboards
How it works?
What kind of data is recorded?
- User name (can be changed in the Settings screen)
- Type of project (document or family)
- File name
- Name, ID and type of view (3D, floor plan, ceiling ...)
- Revit version
- Project name
- Project phase
- Task
How can I visualize the recorded data?
How can I organize the recorded data of my team?
What is a manual record?
You can use the manual recordfunction to add external hours to the modeling process.
The hours added in this way can be distinguished from the modeling hours by being identified as "Manual record" in the "Project type" field.
You can also use the "Task" field to assign the manual record to meetings, site visits or administrative work.
What happens if I forget to stop recording?
Time recording is stopped automatically if there is no activity in Revit.
After returning to modeling, it is possible to record the idle time as "manual record".
The idle time before the pause of recording can be adjusted in the settings screen.
How can I copy my custom data (projects, phases, tasks) to another computer?
For now, you can do it manually by copiyng the "user.config" file from one computer to another.
I am receiving an error message about the plug-in on Revit startup
This happens because (for now) Project Tracker only works in Revit in English and Portuguese.
